The Twelve Concepts of Service and Public
Information
From the early days of our Fellowship, our
Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions have guided us as a
Fellowship and paved the way for our growth. The guiding
principles of our Traditions have influenced our fundamental
decisions, helping to protect us from ourselves. The Twelve
Concepts, as guiding principles, empower the groups to create an
efficient and responsive service structure to serve their common
needs.
In the pages which follow, we will discuss the
Twelve Concepts as they apply to the delivery of services from a
Public Information perspective. These essays are derived for the
1998 Draft PI Handbook and was not intended to replace
the more thorough discussion of the Concepts in the pamphlet,
"The Twelve Concepts of NA Service." This discussion is solely
our shared experience on the subject, from a Public Information
point of view.
